It is our third year at Basis Scottsdale Primary East and we couldn’t be happier. The school has done an outstanding job teaching both of our children. We can see how quickly they have grown. Our kids are driven, motivated and most importantly they love their school. The teachers are helpful and respectful. They care about the students and want them to succeed. They will offer assistance when they see the students need extra help.We are so thankful that we have such great school where we live and we are excited to see our children’s continuous growth with Basis Scottsdale Primary East.

My student's experience at BASIS Scottsdale Primary East has been excellent. The academic focus is far better than at the traditional public schools without going too far. In addition to the core subjects, my child loves that he has PE and recess every day. The playground isn't as big as a traditional public school, but I'm okay with the trade-off since he also has art, drama, music, engineering, and connections once a week. The extracurricular options a great. They offer clubs from the arts, to sports, to academic enrichment, and the teachers engage with the students rather than babysitting them. The aftercare program also gives every child time to work on their homework, He's not distracted because all the other students are expected to do the same thing, so when I pick up my son, he's usually finished his homework. How amazing is that! The teachers at BSPE are wonderful and truly want to see each child succeed. If my student struggles with a concept, I can request he attend student hours, or if the teacher feels he needs more support, they will ask that he attend. BASIS teaches students at a young age to advocate for what they need from their teachers and peers by requiring them to get a communication journal signed each night, which is used to inform the students and parents about homework, tests, and behaviors. This style isn't for everyone, but if you are struggling as a parent with anything, all you need to do is reach out to the teachers. They have always been happy to schedule a virtual, phone, or in-person meeting to discuss concerns, growth, or any general questions I have. In my experience, they are delighted to partner with me to support my child and establish a line of communication that works for me. I realize some parents don't think they should have to reach out, but I encourage you to remember education isn't a one-size-fits-all profession, so to know what works best for you, they need to hear from you. They don't have the luxury of seeing you in class daily, so help them help you and your child by reaching out when you need support. For any family wondering if this is the right school for their child, I suggest going on a tour and asking the questions you're concerned about. I think you will be pleased with what you see and experience. BASIS Scottsdale Primary East is a wonderful and safe place for my students, and I recommend it to any family looking for a solid, well-rounded academic experience.

"Three of our children attend this school and academically it is awesome. However, there is little time for play- 15 minutes once daily in the ""bull pen"" with 30 kids packed into a small room. Outdoor recess only occurs for 15 minutes twice weekly. All of our children are self motivated and do well academically but do not enjoy going to school."
